PD to contact the council to ask the reinstatement of the double yellow lines near the new traffic island at Moorhall Road.

PD contacted Cllr Tuckwell who said it was going to be added to the next highways meeting, I contacted him again on Thursday of last week and he advised that he is due to be briefed by the Highways team this week.

Water contamination, GB wanted to bring the Councillors and MP’s into the loop but with the local elections this was put on hold, now that the elections have finished we will ask Sarah Green from the Green Party to come along to another meeting and get the councillors & MP’s involved.

Chairmans Comments

GB asked for the AGM which was originally planned for 8th June to be pushed back to 13^th July, a show of hands agreed this change unanimously. GB advised that we are planning to distribute a leaflet to further broaden the word of the HTRA and to generate more support at our monthly meetings at the Church fete on 13th June.

GB further mentioned that at the AGM we will be looking for additional committee members to support the work we are doing, in particular on the environment side.

GB mentioned the results of the recent local elections that Tommy Balham is now the Councillor for Harefield Village, Reform gained 4 seats, Conservatives gained 2 seats to have overall control with 30 seats, Greens gained 1 seat and Labour lost 7 seats, down to 16 seats.

GB advised that now that the local elections are out of the way that we will expect to see a change of use planning application at Hujjat to a “community hub” at Widewater Place

A petition was raised regarding 32 Vernon Drive which had 204 online objections plus a further 60-70 written petitions which was supported by a planning rebuttal letter, this now goes to a planning committee to decide the outcome & GB as the lead petitioner to say why we don’t want a 8 person HMO in that small square.

The date is yet to be notified but expects to be in the next 4-6 weeks.

35 Church Hill planning enforcement, there were no plans submitted, building regs were “duff” and no party wall agreement in place.

The enforcement has attended the site but its now shut down and the company who started the building works has dissolved themselves & we have done a LBA (letter before action) to the planning dept & the building regs company.

GB had made a recent count of 30 HMO’s in Harefield but there are likely to be more housing 200-240 people, we have asked the council to prepare a database to find out if the HMO’s are all legal & above board.

Car wash at Widewater Place, car wash application submitted on 5th of May but they submitted a SUDS report on 6th May so the decision had been delayed.

Burger bar on High Street (prev Phat Shack)- front of building has not been completed according to planning permission given we are in a conservation area, they were told to fix it but they have not as yet.

They also have a single story structure at the rear to house food storage, a retrospective application to take it down which they did but the new people rebuilt the timber extension without permission. This will be investigated.

Resident from Sanctuary Close raised serious concerns about multiple HMO’s in Sanctuary Close, they are a safety concern with multiple young men living there whilst there are many young females in the street.

Other residents asked for a database to be created to list all HMO’s in the village and put up a petition to have these closed down if antisocial behaviour continues to happen in these properties.

Health

Harefield Practice News

The road leading into the Harefield Hospital via the Practice, will be repaired in the near future and may take up to four days to repair.

The Practice now has an Isolation Room; this can be entered behind the building though the door.

The Practice is looking into opening longer hours during the week and maybe one Saturday a month.

Missed appointments this month 313, 200 in the previous month which is a real issue because people complain about not being able to get an appointment so please, if you cant attend an appointment please cancel the appointment so it can be used for someone else.

Police/Crime

Nothing new to report on policing until the next ward meeting, IC will ask about the “detection rate” meaning as this is misleading as to the statistics of crimes being solved vs those being reported.

Hillingdon is 9^th worst for sexual assault/rapes in London but they responded “but that’s south of the borough”

Mani (Local PCSO) has agreed to come to an upcoming HTRA meeting to discuss policing in the village.

Serious police issued at HMO on Moorhall Road, IC showed them a video to the local SNT and they dismissed it that its “not on their patch”

GB meeting with SNB (Safer Neighbourhood Board), IAG (Independent Advisory Group)

& MET Engage so there are too many groups & doing different things & there seems no joined up thinking or action to solve problems.

A Night Time Road Closure of Harvil Road for 2 Nights (10pm to 5am) has been agreed to take place over the next Bank Holiday (Sat 23/05 & Sun 24/05).

There is a new HS2/Align Newsletter in the Community Engagement section for Spring 2026 covering all Align works in Hillingdon and Bucks.

The Removal of the Water Treatment Plant at West Ruislip Portal is now ongoing until 30/06. There are details of a Permanent Fence being installed in the PROW U43 at present, and details of the Service Road being closed on Breakspear Road South for Affinity Water Main Replacement from 30/03.

The works to remove the Traffic Lights & narrow the carriageway and Bellmouth at Dews Lane / Harvil Road Junction have now been moved to take place between 03/06 & 23/06, and there will be resurfacing of the A412 in Bucks at Night Time from 29/06 to 04/07 (with the Diversion coming into Hillingdon).

There are also details of agreed works on Moorhall Road to install the final new Bellmouth by the Viaduct (under Narrow Lanes between 29/06 & 27/07) & the Night Time Resurfacing of Moorhall Road under Road Closures (9pm to 5am) over 4 Shifts between 27/07 & 31/07.

AGM on 13^th July at Harefield Social club
A resident commented on the current flags in the village looking tired, it was reported that these are being replaced with new flags in the coming weeks
Microphone handed to our new Harefield Village Councillor Tommy Balham to say a few words. Tommy asked to be judged by his actions not his words and he is going to fight for the benefit of the village.
