Welcome

Minutes of the last AGM meeting

Monday 12th May 2025

All had received the minutes and they were agreed as a true copy proposed by Graham & seconded by Diane and approved.

Matters arising from the minutes

GB highlighted that we seem to be getting similar number of attendees each month and that we seem to be going over the same subjects each time & there isn’t always enough time to address the matters raised & get replies from the powers that be.

It was suggested that we rearranged the diaries to 4 quarterly meetings instead of 12 monthly meetings. The rationale behind this is to address 3 major subjects that will affect the village such as the Medi Parc, Widewater & the rising number of HMO’s and to concentrate our time on these larger matters that affect the village.

Christine countered this and suggested a bi-monthly meeting instead of quarterly as it’s a big jump to go from 12 to 4.

GB reminded everyone of the actions & key points from AGM for the coming year are detailed below

Challenges for 2025

  • ULEZ
  • Harefield Juniors School amalgamation
  • LBH refusal to allow us access to notice boards in the village that are headed Harefield Tenants & Residents Association even though they are not being used by anyone
  • Review boundary changes
  • HMO’s
  • Fly tipping & HS2
  • Planning
  • Crime & policing

Police/Roads

Very little from this subject matter this month, the police have had undercover officers watching suspicious activities in the village. The police have already confiscated a powered bike from a youth and this was taken to be destroyed.

Youths have been seen riding quadbikes on the footpath which is extremely dangerous

The long awaited LBH resurfacing of Harvil Road between the junction with Swakeleys Road and HS2 Gate 1 Site has now been provisionally scheduled to take place from Mon 11/08 until Fri 29/08.

This will be a Full Road Closure in place 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to get this large area of road completely resurfaced.

These are provisional dates that will be confirmed in the next couple of weeks once the Contractor and LBH Highways Team are confident that the works can be completed within this specified timeframe. If these works can be delivered across 19 days it will be a big reduction on the initially quoted 4 week Full Road Closure which would mean less disruption for users of Harvil Road in getting these essential works completed.

During the Road Closure access maintained for residents of Harvil Road only during the Road Closure and the U9 Bus will have to be on Diversion.

The confirmed dates and the Diversion Route will follow over the next couple of weeks.

There is also a scheduled Road Closure of Breakspear Road South from Fri 29/08 at 8pm until Sun 31/08 at 8pm but this will be dependent on LBH completing the resurfacing works by Fri 29/08.

Environment

Bellevue Terrace

Planning permission have been granted (on appeal) to build 4 dwellings on Green Belt at Bellevue Terrace.  Hillingdon Council initially refused permission.

Medi Parc

No news at the moment although it is expected the Comer Homes will put in a planning application.

Broadwater/HOAC resettlement

No news regarding planning permission.

Access Road on Breakspear Road North.

A new (rough) access road off Breakspear Road has been created in the past few months.  This  access leads to a field that backed onto Bayhurst Wood.   There has been considerable earth disturbance in this area with earth being banked up against the wood’s boundary.  I have been in contact with the Council’s Enforcement Officer without much success and also been in contact with the Ruislip Woods Management team to find out what is going on.  I am still waiting.

From 7th July Hillingdon Council will be charging for garden waste collections to the cost of £70.00 per household, residents must register by 31st December for “opt in” Garden waste collections and give you a green tag to go onto the bag. You will be given 3 tags and if you don’t have it the green waste will not be taken away.

Previously you had an allowance of 6 garden waste bags being taken away for free now its only 3 bags as long as they have tags, as a result we are getting a lesser service for more money.

Below is a link to the green waste page on Hillingdon Council’s website to subscribe or to find out more:
