Actions
PD contacted Cllr Tuckwell who said it was going to be added to the next highways meeting, I contacted him again on Thursday of last week and he advised that he is due to be briefed by the Highways team this week.
LBH replied to advise that the reinstatement of the double yellow lines has to go to consultation which will be the middle of July.
The petition to ensure that Hillingdon Council retain a stronger level of financial scrutiny still needs more signatures, The signature count has reached 78 which is a solid effort but it is still significantly short of the number needed to trigger even a formal acknowledgement from the Council.
Hillingdon has gone from several committees where opposition councillors could routinely ask budget questions, to one smaller committee with one opposition councillor. That is not a technicality. That is fewer elected representatives regularly looking at the numbers.
At a time when Hillingdon is under serious financial pressure, residents need more visible scrutiny, not less. More councillors asking questions, not fewer. More service-level budget challenge, not one smaller committee where the numbers can be contained in a tighter space.

Derek reminded everyone that as we are in a conservation area that if you plan to cut any trees down that any tree more than 4cm in diameter you must ask for permission otherwise you risk a £10,000 fine
44 Ash Grove which was a failed HMO application has put in for a loft conversion. Derke also asked everyone to be vigilant about any potential issues and to let us know if they see something that doesn’t look right.
GB highlighted that the planning department will only accept arguments but not assumptions, for example they will dismiss public objections in a petition if they are not legally valid objections specially they “will not & cannot base planning decisions on falling property values, assumptions on personal background or perceived behaviour of future tenants or complaints about temporary noise about the construction process.
GB agreed with the latter point but the 2 former points on property values & assumptions about personal background is where it gets political & planners wont touch that so please, when you write an objections keep to the facts.
On other issues in the village we have the Church Hill HMO, we have sent a LBA to the council and have not heard back yet from any parties. Stared work without planning, didn’t get a party wall agreement and the building regulations were wrong. This was done by Dunwoody Building Regulations Co Ltd, GB suggested to Cllr Balaam that they should be struck off in this borough for their erroneous building regulations procedures & shoddy & illegal works being conducted by them.

Hypertension Awareness
It is estimated that 43,000 residents in Hillingdon are living with undiagnosed high blood pressure. As high blood pressure can lead to other long-term health conditions, it is important that we do our bit to raise awareness.
Monitoring blood pressure is important to help catch hypertension early, reducing the risk of heart disease or stroke.
Where you can signpost people for blood pressure checks:
Breast Screening
Breast screening is a powerful tool for catching cancer early, often before symptoms show. It boosts the chances of easier, more effective treatment. Raising awareness encourages more people to get checked when invited. A simple scan can save lives.

Advice and help from your local pharmacist
Pharmacists can offer advice on a range of illnesses, such as coughs, colds, sore throats, ear infections and aches and pains.
They can also give advice about medicines. This includes how to use your medicine, worries about side effects or any other questions you have.
If they cannot help you themselves, they can refer you to a GP or other health professional.
Treatment from a pharmacist
Pharmacists can suggest treatments that do not need a prescription for a range of conditions.
Most pharmacies can also offer prescription medicine for some conditions, without you needing to see a GP or make an appointment. This is called Pharmacy First.
Conditions they can offer prescription medicine for are:
If you are not within these age ranges, a pharmacist can still offer advice and support decisions about self care treatment with over the counter medicines, but you may need to see a GP for treatment.
If you go to a pharmacy with one of these conditions, the pharmacist will offer you advice, treatment or refer you to a GP or other health professional if needed. They will also update your GP health record, but your information will not be shared with anyone else.
Most pharmacies can provide prescription medicine for these conditions but contact them before visiting to check.
Disposing of old medicines.
If your medicine is out of date or unwanted, do not put them in a bin or flush away. Your pharmacy will dispose of them safely.
Getting the contraceptive pill without a prescription
Some pharmacies may offer the contraceptive pill for free without a prescription. If you are aged 18 years or older, you can also buy the progesterone-only pill from most pharmacies.
Emergency contraception
Some pharmacies offer the emergency contraceptive pill for free. If you’re aged 16 or over, you can also buy it from most pharmacies.
Get a free blood pressure check
Some pharmacies offer a free blood pressure check.
More services
Other services that may be available at a local pharmacy include:
Ask a local pharmacist to find out what services they offer.
There is nothing to report on police matters, albeit there is a Ward panel meeting this month.
GB attending the Hillingdon Independent Advisory Group at the Civic Centre which is a bi monthly meeting on Tuesday 9th June, GB asked for any questions which we want to be raised on the villages behalf please let him know and he will report back on this at the next public meeting.
The subject matters discussed are on Anti social behaviour, theft (all kinds) & domestic abuse to name but a few.
A resident mentioned as to why drugs are not on their list of concerns, also asked GB to raise why they use “detection rate” as a % of crime and does not count the number of crimes only those solved which is misleading.

Future Planned Works / Works Postponed / Works Rescheduled:
IC met Cllr Balaam at Willow Tree Farm, Breakspear Road North, situated on the right as you go down BRN, and he is putting in a members enquiry as to what is happening and what their intentions are.
There is at present an enforcement order on the work, as there is also no planning application submitted. The land has been flattened and, in my opinion it is about to go under tarmac.
As this is a SSI this needs to be actioned & investigated ASAP.
Concrete drainage is also in storage on site, we need to contact the green belt council along with the people at Ruislip and the woods conservation group, this could set a serious precedent if we are not up to speed.
