Respiratory Syncytial Virus
Millions of older people can now get protection against a virus which causes serious lung infections like bronchitis and pneumonia – preventing potentially thousands of hospital admissions a year. All adults aged 80 and over, and people living in a care home for older adults, are now eligible for the NHS respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)

Theft from shops 3 offences committed down 5
Robbery 1 offence committed down 4
Drugs 0 offence committed down 5
Public order 1 offence committed No change
Threats to kill 2 offences committed up 1
Detection Rates 3 months to 10th March 2026.
Theft of MV 4 offences committed up 1
Theft from MV 3 offences committed no change
Criminal damage 8 offences committed down 4
Poss of weapons 1 offence committed no change
Sexual 2 offences committed down 1
ASB 8 offences committed down 2
The police are intending to engage in walk and talk street safe initiatives, along with public space patrols, plain clothes operations targeting shoplifting and high visibility patrols also.
Ian mentioned the armed police response to an incident in Moorhall Rd, yet they were unaware of this, despite showing them film footage of the incident. In view of this it may be necessary to look at forming / attending a South Harefield Ward panel meeting.
I asked the attending officers if they would like to attend an HTRA meeting at some stage, they have agreed to do so & we also await the arrival of our new P.C. Beat copper.
At present our SNT team are awaiting training on the use of speed gun cameras, be warned.
Ian will also challenge the SNT team of the Met Police’s categorization of “Ward Detection Rate” as the definition states:
“A police ward detection rate measures the percentage of reported crimes within a specific local electoral ward (neighborhood) that have been formally resolved, or “detected,” by local safer neighborhood teams.
It is a performance indicator used to show how often reported incidents in that specific area result in a “sanctioned” outcome, such as charging a suspect, issuing a caution, or a penalty notice.
However this does not show the volume of crimes reported & those which have been resolved, we need to see both sets of figures to know how effective the police are in both reported & resolved.

Sarah Green from the Gren Party addressed the residents & discussed how she has been studying the water quality of the Colne valley & Harefield tap water, Sarah said that we should not be alarmed & that our tap water is perfectly safe because it is not locally sourced from Blackford water source which was closed May 2021
Sarah has been In touch with Affinity water as there are chemicals found 90m deep which affects the water, Affinity Water will be charging customers more to treat this waste to take out the contaminants.
