Minutes of the last meeting

Monday 14th April 2025

All had received the minutes and they were agreed as a true copy proposed by Diane & seconded by Tina and approved.

Matters arising from the minutes

Diane advised that the last minutes had an omission which need to be reported relating to the 2 matters below.

  • The medical event happening at Widewater Place on 18th

As a result of the accidental omission of this point by the Secretary on the previous minutes there were some comments on Social Media calling member/s of the committee a liar and a bully.

The Harefield Medical practice declined to participate in the community health & wellbeing day event as they get funding from NHS for providing additional services for the residents.

It is accepted that the practice does not perform all matters being covered in this planned wellbeing day but any services that are covered this will be a loss of revenue for the practice.

  • It was suggested that If anyone had any issues relating to Harefield in general that they should email David Simmonds MP & cc Cllr Jane Palmer & Cllr Martin Goddard to ensure that everyone is kept informed.

Chairmans Last Year Review

GB went through various minutes, WhatsApp messages etc for the work that 9 people stood up and undertook on behalf of the village, people have busy daily lives with businesses & careers etc

GB stated that we need more residents on the HTRA committee to spread the workload

GB attended LBH cabinet committee meetings to understand what our Councillors are doing on our behalf, he attended net zero meetings.

We dealt with various actions such as the June 24 planning application regarding Widewater Place at the Harefield Community Centre, also met Cllr Goodard regarding the flats planning application at civic centre.

We attended quarterly Police ward meetings, monthly online HS2 & community engagement sessions relating to roads, traffic, HS2 etc & built a new website.

Due to differences between the committee & London Borough of Hillingdon we have lost the annual funding of £700 per year for general running costs.

Challenges for 2025

  • ULEZ
  • Harefield Juniors School amalgamation
  • LBH refusal to allow us access to notice boards in the village that are headed Harefield Tenants & Residents Association even though they are not being used by anyone
  • Review boundary changes
  • HMO’s
  • Fly tipping & HS2
  • Planning
  • Crime & policing

Treasurers Report

HC presented a summary of the years finances & the general costs

3 sections

  • Money raised by HTRA £1,600 over the past 40 years
  • Align funding for the website, this was spent on building a new website but when the old committee stood down we had to start the process again and build a new website which leaves us around £1500 in the ring fenced funding from Align, this cannot be used for day to day expenditure
  • LBH funding of £700 per year, this has now stopped due to not being associated with the LBH. We use this money for things like hall hire, stationary, printing disbursements, Public liability insurance & misc. items such as wreaths.

AOB

Fundraising ideas for the HTRA now that we no longer receive funding from LBH
